Decorating the exterior of your house can be a bit daunting at times. And if you are not up for a putting up and powering
a festival of lights, why not let your kids get creative with this fun and easy window decoration project with paints made
from soap!
What You Will Need:
Kitchen grater
Bar of mild white soap
Lukewarm water
Electric mixer
Liquid food colouring
Newspaper
Masking tape
New kitchen sponge
What To Do:
- Use a kitchen grater and a bar of mild white soap to make 1 cup of soap shavings.
- Combine the shavings with 1 cup of lukewarm water in a large bowl
- With an electric mixer on low speed, mix the two until blended
- Increase the speed to medium high and beat for another 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture forms soft peaks
- Divide the mixture among several bowls and tint each batch with a few drops of liquid food colouring
- Repeat the process with as many cups of colour you desire
- Cover the floor in front of your window with newspaper
- Put masking tape around the window frame
- Cut a kitchen sponge into small pieces and help your child create their holiday inspired theme!
(To remove, scrape off the dried soap, then use window cleaner and a rag to remove the remainder)
