Gucci helps UNICEF for Christmas

Gucci have collaborated with UNICEF constantly for the past five years, helping to raise awareness and funds for children in Africa. “A Snowman in Africa” is the new book by Michael Roberts in collaboration with Gucci, which will help to raise money for UNICEF. Author and illustrator Roberts published the prequel to this book, “Snowman in Paradise” in 2004.

“I think Roberts has the capability to communicate with children.” Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini said, “I was attracted by Roberts’ collages and the unique creative style. This book will bring a lot of pleasure to children.”

The release of this latest book marks the 5th anniversary of Gucci’s UNICEF project and 100% of the retail price will go to UNICEF.  Since the campaign started five years ago, the Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF has raised $7 million, supporting many issues, such as education, health care and clean water programmes for children in sub-Saharan Africa. This year, South Africa, Malawi and Mozambique will also benefit from the campaign. In fact, Giannini herself is due to fly to Malawi in early November to promote the cause.
