TREND WATCHING SS12: Garden Party Florals for Kids

By now we all know that florals are going to be HUGE in adult collections for SS12 and the same holds true for kids. There is nothing sissy about these hot-house styles and garden themes don’t have to exclude boys. As usual Kids’ designers really let their imaginations go to town here with classic, modern, retro, urban, quirky and avant-garde interpretations.

SS12 Florals for kids

Florals are not just for girly-girls, with many children’s designers again turning to bohemian themes for flower baby inspiration. We love the antique blue floral prints for babies from luxury baby brand Kissy Kissy, this look is a great beautiful alternative to traditional pink. Paul Smith injects his usual quirkiness into classic floral look. We simply adore his flouncy Beba Floral print dress, which is much more wildflower than prim and proper. The SS12 Baby Dior collection replaces the girls’ Rose motif with delicate bumble bees for baby boys.

This season’ looks are not for wall flowers. Look to brands like Roberto Carvalli and British brand Joules for hot-house blooms. Tropical interpretations are perfect for high-energy kids and look great teamed with neutral denims. Sun-bleached colour pallets make bolder spring prints perfectly wearable.

For really special additions to summer weddings look to the petal like curves of new luxe brand Suzanne Ermann. Petal details will feature on everything from summer swimwear to smart sandals such as those featured in the girls’ collection by Naturino.

You can now shop all of these new SS12 looks online at AlexandAlexa.
