Heirloom Quality Riding Rocker

It is a unique experience to come across a children’s toy that is heirloom quality. Goose Creek, however, has gone

back to basics with a refreshing blast from the past.

The small family owned and operated business designs upscale, custom ordered Riding Rockers, crafted to such

perfection, it is an item worthy of being passed down from generation to generation. Their exclusive line of quality

wooden toys are enchanting to the eye and bring back the nostalgic feeling of childhood fairytales, igniting the imagination

and evoking that childhood need to play.

Despite the beauty of the item, it is a feel good purchase as well as the toys and riders created by Goose Creek are

impeccably ‘green’ with all items 100% handmade using locally harvested wood, painted with lead-free, non toxic paints,

and designed by local artists. To top it off, a portion of the proceeds from each purchase go to charity making each toy and

rider a completely guilt free purchase.

Celebrities like Conan O’Brian, Mark Steines and Jenna Elfman have already ordered custom made Riding Rockers

for their children. And even more impressive is grandfather Bob VandenBos, who has now ordered his sixth

Riding Rocker saying:

“We’ve made it a tradition to celebrate each of our grandchild’s first birthdays by giving them a Riding Rocker.  We

love the heirloom quality and the unique nature of the Rocker.  This heirloom allows our grandchildren to remember

us as they pass the Rocker onto their children.”

The complete uniqueness of each handmade rocker is guaranteed with a unique four line dedication plaque on every

rocker, serial numbers, dates and stamps.

The Good Kind of Tantrum

Moon2

When we were kids, going for a haircut was far from fun. If you were lucky, you would get a lolly to suck on as

the hairdresser talked with your parents about the weather and chopped away, ignoring you, while you shifted

uncomfortably on the stack of phone books or booster chair you were sat on.

Today, children have a lot more choices for their salon needs, including London based children’s salon, Tantrum.

Set up to give parents and children a new experience, this child centred salon hosts world class stylists, guaranteed

to give your kids a tear and boredom free experience.

The Salon is split into two levels to cater to the older and younger crowd separately. The ground floor, called Moon,

is for kids aged 7 and under and features a ceiling that mimics the night sky, a miniature locomotive train complete

with sound and steam, fairytale inspired wall murals, play area, individually themed styling chairs and combined flat

screen TV and DVD player at each station.

Downstairs is the 8 and up area called Vogue, which portrays a dressing room glamour theme, juice bar, games room,

hangout area, TV and DVD combo at each station and a pair of fire spot stingrays called Bert and Ernie.

Tantrum has also developed its own kids hair care range that will allow you to take their stress free hair experience from

the salon to your bathroom.

Both the salon and hair care line are not for profit and were established to donate its profits to the tantrum for kid’s charity,

which supplies children’s books to schools and hospitals throughout the UK. Founders, Neil Ambler and Latasha

Malik wereinspired by their past volunteering and fundraising work and set out to create a business that would

support their charity.

Tantrum is located at  398 Kings Road, London, SW10 0LJ. To make an appointment, please call 0207 376 3966.

That Place on the Corner

Catering to the needs of both parents and children is a hard thing to do, but That Place on the Corner, located

in Newington Green, seems to have got it just right.

With tasteful decoration, That Place on the Corner looks more like the playroom of a aristocratic child in Victorian

times with a brightly coloured velvet and silk window seat, vintage wooden tables, a little library and beautifully crafted

play shop and a dressing up corner.

A weekly schedule of baking, crafting, dancing and music making for preschoolers during the day and more programs for

the after-school crowd, your children are sure to be kept busy with the variety of creative activities offered at

That Place on the Corner.

To top off the extensive activities is the food. The children’s menu offers wholesome staples like pasta, burgers, chicken,

fish cakes and even a daily organic baby blend, while the parental choices are a bit more exciting with options like

Goat Cheese Salad, Breaded Plaice Goujons and Panini Sandwiches on the menu.

That Place on the Corner is located at 1-3 Green Lanes, Newington Green, London N16 9BS, 020 7704 0079.
