By now we all know that florals are going to be HUGE in adult collections for SS12 and the same holds true for kids. There is nothing sissy about these hot-house styles and garden themes don’t have to exclude boys. As usual Kids’ designers really let their imaginations go to town here with classic, modern, retro, urban, quirky and avant-garde interpretations.
Designer Suzanne Ermann started her ground breaking bridal collection in Paris in 1994 after training with the likes of Chantal Thomas, Chanel and Thierry Mugler. Her use of luxe fabrics to create shapes and movement gives these dresses a magical quality. The pieces for girls are truly princess dresses without being clichéd.
We couldn’t wait to share one of our favourite new videos with you from the team at Trunki. These British creators of original luggage for kids make some of our best sellers, including the Trunkisaurus ride-on suitcase for travelling tots (available in green or yellow). Since the companies remarkable start in 2006 , they have expanded their range to include other cute travel essentials, which double as quirky friends to keep the kids entertained. When the guys from Trunki turned up at AlexandAlexa the other day we were all wondering if they were carrying new samples or if they have taken to using the Trunkis as briefcases.
In December we were getting all excited about new season skiwear, now the spotlight is on swim. If you’re lucky enough to be escaping winter to warmer climes or be a resident of the southern hemisphere you will already be thinking about updating the kids’ beach essentials and when you consider that children will be living in their swimwear over the summer months it is worth investing in quality fabrics with high-energy detailing. This season AlexandAlexa loves Statement Swimwear, with new collections from Europe and Brazil and are delighted to be showcasing new collections from Missoni and D&G Junior.
