Dulwich Picture Gallery by Guest Mum Blogger, Linnea

It is the 200th anniversary of Dulwich Picture Gallery this year and if you haven’t yet visited this South East London treasure now is the time to go for it. Located in Dulwich Village with its beautiful green surroundings, the gallery not only houses one of the world’s most important collections of European old master paintings of the 1600s and 1700s (one of the oldest in Britain), but also hosts plenty of family activities.

Adults and children can use their creative minds together at Artplay, a drop-in workshop on the first and last Sunday of every month, 2-3.30pm. No need to book, simply show up and make anything and everything – only your imagination is the limit. Free for families with a Gallery ticket or £2 per child.

If you are a teacher at any level, why not plan a day outing and take part of one of the interactive school activities on offer from the age of 4, including First Steps into Art, Writing and Imagination and Storytelling. All sessions are free of charge. Simply contact Schools Programme Manager on 020 8299 8731 to make a booking.

Round up your day with a treat at the lively Dulwich Picture Gallery Café or enjoy a walk in beautiful Dulwich park!
