Wonderland Teacup Candle Craft

In Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice in Wonderland,” the tea party scenes are perhaps the most memorable;

the nonsense conversations, silly characters and, of course, ‘the very happy un-birthday’ song.

This fun craft will bring you back to that Wonderland scene and also doubles as a great mother’s day gift as it is

100% eco friendly, pretty and ia useful nostalgic decoration!

If you don’t have china cups you want to recycle, thrift stores or second hand stores often have a wide variety of china

for very reasonable prices.

What You Will Need:

Paraffin Wax or Gel Wax

Double Boiler/ Coffee Can/ Large Pan

Tea Cup & Saucer

Hot Glue Gun

Wick

Chop Stick or Pencil

Oven Mitts or Potholders

What to do:

1. Melt wax or old candle stubs in a double boiler or coffee can in a pan of water.

2. Place wick into cup and cut to length, allowing for 1-2 inch for tying around a stick.

3. Insert wick into wick holder and crimp to hold.

4. Place wick into center cup and hold with a stick across width of cup to hold the wick in place.

5. Pour melted wax into cup (keep the kids away while wearing oven mitts or potholders to prevent burns)

6. Make sure wick is still centerd, adjust if necessary, and allow wax to cool

7. Trim wick

5 Favourites from the Wonderland Wardrobe

London’s Alice in Wonderland premier went off without a hitch last night, despite the stereotypical London rain,

with Wonderland royalty and British royalty sharing the red carpet.

Father of two and star Johnny Depp assured reporters his kids are big fans of the film, “My kids actually saw the

film and they adored it, they loved every character and no, the graphics did not freak them out whatsoever!”

With fans lining the red carpet, dressed as various characters from the movie, a bit of Alice Fever may be about

to hit.

And it seems the fever’ has already spread to the fashion world, with designers using the film as inspiration for their

SS10 lines, like Muchacha’s Wonderland inspired t-shirts that take inspiration from the original artwork of the story.

We Are Photogirls help your Little Ones Strike a Pose

When we were kids, our interest in fashion started at a much later age.

Before the internet and the bombardment of teen celebrities, we were dressed in the clothing sold at

department stores or in catalogues, our fashion icons were cartoon characters like Daphne from

Scooby Doo or Belle from Beauty and the Beast and the closest thing we had to a fashion magazine

would have been craft magazines that taught us how to make friendship bracelets.

We had no Suri Cruise or Honor Warren to inspire our parents to make us into baby fashionstas, no Teen Vogue to

teach us about style at an early age and no idea until our late teens what a photo shoot was.

Today, almost every designer has a children’s line, creating the opportunity for our kids to grow their love for

fashion earlier. Celebrities and the children of celebrities inspire our kids daily and children as young as five

dream of becoming models, stylists or designers.

We Are Photogirls realize that people of all ages are in love with fashion and have created an amazing way for

your children to explore their love for fashion in a fun, educational and professional way.

The fabulous London Company creates Vogue style photoshoot parties for kids of all ages; you choose the photo

shoot theme, they bring their own team of professional photographers, stylists and makeup artists, helping guests

and birthday baby’s to feel like stars.

The team also holds workshops during the school holidays and at the weekends for 12-18 year olds to

learn photography, styling, art direction, prop making, make-up and hair design and lighting.

Interested in letting your little one strike a pose? Checkout the Photogirls website at wearephotogirls.com

Luxo Cribs

With the speed at which children seem to grow up these days, having stylish furniture in their nursery that grows

with them is anything but bad. It is better for the environment and for your pocket, giving you years of use out

of your purchase.

The Luxo Crib by bloom is a great example of a ‘growing nursery’ item, as it converts from a crib to a toddler bed

and even folds for easy storage after you have had your years of use from it.

The unique design and curved clean lines omit a modern European style, perfect for your little ones slumber and your

designer eye.

You can find Luxo Cribs at www.Giggle.com
