Fun Artwork for Curious Kids

For all your little ones that have imaginative minds, Stinky Whizzers has a bundle of wall art goodies just right for your

little Einstein.

Stinky Whizzers wall art is sure to capture your children’s imaginations while you decorate their bedrooms,

nurseries and playspaces in the process!  Their products introduce young minds to an array of fun and

colourful creatures while keeping each image educational!

“It all started when I was looking for a present for my niece,” said Phil Alderson, children’s book illustrator, father and

co-founder of Stinky Whizzers,  “When I looked for a cool piece of artwork all I found was pink or blue or pastels so I

decided to draw something unique myself. We wanted to create something that appealed to kids with bold colours and

also something that you would want to look at again and again. The Stinky Whizzers go on adventures and we love the

idea of capturing children’s imagination. They can make up stories about what is happening and where the characters

are whizzing to next.”

Phil Alderson created the company with his sister-in-law Claire Alderson, a mother of two and a sales and marketing

whiz. Stinky Whizzers artwork is hand drawn from initial sketches, then ‘inked up’ – just as traditional illustration

used to be done.

HUGO BOSS gets a new look

Last year, HUGO BOSS launched a global design contest which aimed to support the next generation of urban creatives.

This year, HUGO BOSS has announced their selection, chosen from over 13,000 entries submitted online across

108 countries and has decided to use it to illustrate a limited edition bottle of the brand’s iconic HUGO by HUGO

BOSS fragrance.

The winning entry was submitted by 39-year-old Marvin Pedro of the Philippines, his work was chosen for the

iconic simplicity of his contemporary design.

The artists work seems to have found its way from the fragrance bottle to the design room, especially when it comes

to the new HUGO BOSS children’s line, with urban style and casual contemporary wears overtaking the expected

polo shirts and tee shirts HUGO BOSS has always been known for.

A Little Taste of Denmark: Drømmekage / Dream Cake

This is a simply delicious Danish tea-time cake to enjoy during these stubborn winter afternoons. It’s simple to make, great

for the kids to join in, and the result is a bit like the name suggests: a cake of your dreams…

What you will need for the cake:

50g butter

280ml milk

300g granulated sugar

4 eggs

250g flour

3tsp baking powder

1tsp vanilla sugar (Looks exactly like baking powder and may be hard to find in the UK. If so, just use vanilla extract)

…and for the topping:

50ml milk

100g coconut, desiccated

250g dark brown soft unrefined cane sugar

What to do:

  1. Heat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the milk.
  3. Whisk eggs and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy with an electric whisk.
  4. Add the butter/milk mix to the egg mix.
  5. Stir the flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar into the egg mix and carefully mix until smooth.
  6. Pour the mix into a buttered oven tin and bake in the middle of the oven for approximately 20 minutes, a bit longer if the tin is thicker and/or smaller. Preferably use a tin size of approximately 30x40cm, but it doesn’t matter if it’s a bit smaller or larger, round or square. Just adjust the time in the oven. The deeper and thicker the cake tin, the longer the cooking time.
  7. While the cake is in the oven prepare the topping: simply put all the ingredients in a saucepan and let it melt together until smooth and brown. Make sure you stir.
  8. Spread the topping evenly over the cake and then bake for another 5 minutes. If you really wish to caramelise the topping, turn up the heat a bit for these last minutes.
  9. Leave to cool until the topping has set for its sticky texture.
  10.  Cut into squares or any preferred shape and serve at tea time!
